Avista is seeking a Training and Development Coordinator to join its Craft Training team to develop training activities including, but not limited to, instructor-led modules, e-learning, videos, and simulations.

The position requires someone eager to develop subject matter expertise and engaging visual experiences. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the skill to seamlessly prioritize and jump between several projects to meet changing objectives and deadlines.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years' experience in instructional design, training, and e-learning development, along with related education and/or certifications. In this role, you will develop instructional materials to meet business learning needs, help coordinate learning and development (L&D) projects, collaborate with subject matter experts to produce effective learning solutions. You should also be a clear and concise communicator who is comfortable working with teams and individuals at varying levels in an organization.

  • Experience designing and deploying a variety of learning and development programs that meet client needs via multiple approaches, including web-based, instructor-led, and blended learning methods.
  • Experience with instructional design across multiple delivery modalities with an understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, build consensus, resolve conflicts and facilitate the adoption of change across multiple stakeholders.
  • Project management skills and the ability to execute on multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills for understanding complex client needs, developing successful solutions, logically organizing and clearly conveying information, and measuring the outcomes in ways clients and learners find valuable.
  • Exemplary communication skills: written, visual, verbal, and presentation.
  • Proven ability to be a trusted, valued and effective contributor within and across teams.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and proficiency with authoring and design tools/applications (Adobe Creative Suite and Articulate 360 preferred). Experience working with a Learning Management System a plus.
  • Combinations of related education, professional certifications and experience will be considered.
