This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead TS Process Specialist based in Des Plaines IL. The Lead TS Process Specialist for Gasoline Technologies provides technical support for a range of UOP technologies, primarily CCR Platforming, Fixed Bed Platforming, NHT, and Naphtha Fractionation. Our customers are both external (licensee/operating companies, Engineering Procurement & Construction ("EPC") contractors, vendors and consultants) and internal (Field Services, Regional Services, R&D, Engineering, Business groups, and Sales organization). An average level of travelof 20% is typically required to both domestic and international sites. Much of this travel can be scheduled and planned in advance. Physical inspection requiring climbing up, crawling through and walking on pressure vessels, distillation columns, tanks, and piping at commercial sites is sometimes part of the job.
The primary accountability of the position is to complete the transfer of our technology in order to deliver to our customers' UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units that operate optimally, profitably and safely. To do so, the Specialist will have regular interaction with those external customers, and with other UOP personnel involved in technology delivery projects.
In addition to customer contact, the position provides interaction with all the UOP departments involved with technology delivery, e.g.; R&D, Sales/Sales Support, and Engineering.
The interaction with other UOP departments provides excellent exposure as well as providing knowledge of accountabilities in other areas. Technology Services is an excellent career position withopportunities to advance to higher grade levels as well as a career path to other departments, e.g. Sales, Regional Service and Engineering.
Participate in R&D technology improvement projects, bringing commercial perspectives and key data to the team.
Champion changes & improvements in technologies supported via innovation [MOIs].
Serve as the focal point for office-based support of new unit and revamped unit startups from pre-commissioning through guarantee acceptance.
Provide sales support for new unit and revamp projects.
Assist in rectifying guarantee resolution problems by participating in problem investigation and development of solutions.
Participate in customer meetings.
Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Plot Plans, HAZOP, Model Reviews, and others.
Review, analyze and provide feedback on commercial unit operating data and other commercial information/experience that leads to improvements in UOP Technology.
Provide both office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance to commercial units.
Conduct on-site commercial unit audits.
Mentor FOS Advisors.
Keep current with customer needs for technologies supported, communicate changes, and incorporate relevant changes into appropriate documents.
Prepare and update general operating manuals, process technology manuals, and training materials and present UOP technology training courses both in the US and abroad.

YOU MUST HAVE
BS in Chemical Engineering
7+ years' experience, including a minimum of 3 years of UOP Technical Service, UOP Engineering or equivalent industry experience in process operations, technical service or engineering design.
Prior experience in one or more of UOP's technologies listed above is desired.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective problem solving skills.
Good presentation skill.
MS Office computer skills (Access or Hysys a plus).
Good organization skills.
Ability to work independently and handle a multitude of tasks concurrently.
Basic knowledge of one or more of the technologies listed above including their equipment and operations.
