Kforce is working with a well-known investment firm located in New York, NY that is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer. Summary: This is an Associate level role within their Distributed Computing team which consist of: Citrix, SAN, Windows/AD, and Cloud Technologies. The team size is small enough where an incumbent will get to wear many hats - lots of visibility in the role. This position will be responsible for the operational support, architectural development, server maintenance, server security, backup/recovery, and system integrity and integration for the windows server environment. The administrator will have enterprise-wide responsibility for all windows related architecture. The compensation is very competitive: Medical Coverage is almost paid for, lucrative Pension Plan, ton of PTO, bonus, and other perks. Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs both routine and non-routine systems administration tasks for daily operations of the production environment
  • Perform the collection, analysis, and reporting of operational data for use in maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity planning for future enhancements/upgrades
  • Perform Operating System installations, upgrades, and maintain all applications to accepted specifications
  • Meet with project managers and IT staff to best assess the required best practices and approach to configuration management from both a logical and physical perspective
  • Propose and implement server and storage consolidation/migration as necessary
  • Delivers production computer systems that maintain high availability of applications to the business users across the company as per design specification or business needs
  • Apply operating system expertise in the planning, analysis, design, and implementation of the enterprise systems and services
  • Perform system administration tasks for project implementations, which may include multiple, simultaneous activities


  • Detailed technical expertise in Windows2003, Windows2008, Active Directory, Microsoft Clustering Services, IIS, Radius/IAS, Dell/HP hardware, VMware 4.x/5, EMC Clarion Storage, Brocade Fiber Switches, F5 Load Balancing, and SharePoint2010
  • Excellent working knowledge of Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, and Replication in a global organization
  • Financial services background is a plus
