The Global Sourcing Manager (GSM) will manage the sourcing of goods and services required for BMC Software's ongoing business operations, which can include software, computer-related hardware, professional services, contract labor, support services, and other indirect category spend. The incumbent will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and BMC suppliers to manage the full spectrum of the procurement cycle.  The GSM will act with a regional or global scope. The Global Sourcing Manager will provide leadership in creating, maintaining, and managing the interaction between BMC business lines, existing and proposed suppliers primarily focused on the sourcing of goods and services regionally/globally. The GSM facilitates at a strategic level the ongoing working relationships between Global Procurement and respective teams.  The GSM establishes and maintains complex-working relationships that leverage BMC's position in obtaining optimum pricing and terms that maximize return on investment (ROI) and minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) to BMC.  He or she will create and maintain benchmarks, best practices, policies, and procedures used to manage the procurement cycle for the categories supported.  The GSM will regularly interact with executives both within BMC and in negotiations with suppliers.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities: 

- In-depth knowledge of managed Category’s providers and product offerings.

- Comprehensive understanding of best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, sourcing, contracting, negotiation, etc.)

- Advanced negotiation skills to drive savings, avoidance, and recovery for BMC

– achieving substantial cost savings through negotiations, competitive sourcing, and supplier rationalization

- Researches solutions and best of breed providers using available resources (industry analysts, procurement organization reference materials, etc.)

- Conducts & manages process of  RFX (Requests for information, quote, and proposal) in partnership with support organizations

- Establishes communication and collaboration channels with BMC business units and evangelizes BMC Procurement policies, processes and best practices

- Serves as trusted advisor to stakeholders in offering improvements for supplier relationships and business operations

- Prepares and holds business reviews with stakeholders to review and continuously improve supplier performance using supplier performance management (SPM) principles

- Advanced knowledge of contract terms and conditions and information security best practices

- Implement supply and supplier risk management actions 

- Demonstrate leadership ability in cross-functional interaction with suppliers and  BMC teams focused on creating value for the business

- Advanced analytical skills including the ability to synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of data

- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment

- Ability to influence and steer highly ethical process with business partners and suppliers 

*LI-MG1 Experience: 

- 7-10 years’ progressive experience in a Supply Chain/Procurement role for a multi-national organization managing a portfolio of $25M+ - Advanced knowledge of Indirect Spend categories (Consulting, IT, Marketing, HR, Facilities, etc.)

- Track record of effective tactical and strategic negotiations Education: - Bachelors in Business Supply Chain, Accounting, or Finance, MA/MBA a plus - Professional certifications (CPSM, etc.) are a plus but not a requirement
