Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking self-motivated Software Engineers to join the newly formed Boeing Avionics Health Management team to work on developing a suite of vehicle health monitoring applications to be used on multiple commercial and military applications.

 

This position will lead a diverse team of engineers with various backgrounds and skill levels and will join the dynamic team in St. Louis, MO.

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

 

As a Lead Software Engineer - Vehicle Health Management (Level 4), the successful candidate will assist with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

 

The role and responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Gathers information to support software project management.
  • Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics.
  • Supports software research and development projects.
  • Troubleshoots basic software issues.

Ideal Background:

  • Experience as a software lead in an agile environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
  • Experience developing complex software in an embedded environment using the latest in software development environments.
  • Preferred BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, ElectricalEngineering.
  • Prefer development experience in an Agile-style environment.
  • Experience using C++, C# or Java

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) education.
  • Experience using C++, C# or Java
  • Experience, or classroom training, with real-time embedded software
  • Experience capturing and tracking customer requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer.

  • Experience as a software lead.
