Job Description

Job Summary:

The role of the Lead Revenue Analyst is to assist in guiding a team responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of daily revenue recognition including ISS settlement. This encompasses responsibility ranging from data quality and commercial deal making to freight billing and ISS settlement. In this capacity, the Lead Revenue Analyst will participate in the establishment of best practices ensuring lower cost of ownership and low or no cost of failure. It is the responsibility of the Lead Revenue Analyst to identify process failures up or downstream that could have a material or potential effect in the quality of the revenue reporting and implement corrective action and lead a team effort to resolve. The Lead Revenue Analyst will be responsible for monitoring team metrics and performance. The Lead Revenue Analyst will also research variances as a result of disputes and establish action plans to address root causes thereby increasing revenue / settlement accuracy and minimizing occurrences of re-work downstream.

Applies and enforces guidelines to ensure compliance and equitable application of policies, procedures, practices, programs, processes, and systems and makes suggestions for continued improvement or increased efficiencies. Supervises the daily activities of business, administrative, technical and/or operations professional teams. Delivers operational results that align with department commitments. Plans and prioritizes work to meet business unit commitments aligned with company goals and financial responsibilities. Participates in the interview and selection process, provides training and mentorship, offers career development guidance, and is engaged in performance management. Provides timely and constructive coaching and feedback; develops staff and provides challenging opportunities.

Job Duties:

  • Determines root cause of errors impacting the revenue pipeline, quantifies error type and business unit and inputs error data intRMS measurement database.
  • Implements corrective action on a proactive basis to facilitate order to cash process.
  • Provides input on use of RMRs to proactively settle revenue disputes.
  • Identifies, defines and communicates system defects. Monitors upgrades of the RMS system.
  • Interfaces with marketing, sales, business solutions group, customers and other carriers as needed. Maintains a direct channel of communications with Customers, e.g. Marketing & Sales, Business Solutions, Credit & Collections, Customer Solutions, Transportation and other key departments to ensure the Company' revenue is recognized in its entirety.
  • Provides assistance to Marketing, ensuring accurate price creation.
  • Provides assistance to ISS personnel on ISS and customer disputes.
  • Provides ongoing guidance and assistance on a daily basis and resolves disputed issues on a daily basis.
  • Establishes team performance reviews and goal setting, establishes detailed work plans for team and arranges and organizes professional development for team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university - Business
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
