About the job

Our Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team protects, sustains and enables Google's ability to thrive. In this role you'll accelerate GSRS progress in achieving the short and long-term objectives which support the Global GSRS mission.

As the Program Development Manager you'll accomplish this by managing global Strategic Initiatives operations, continuously optimizing for effectiveness and resource efficiency. You'll manage the initiatives portfolio, roadmap, resources, costs, efficacy, and, in some cases, initiatives themselves. Initiatives are varied and may involve delivering new or improved programs, services, or deep-dive research in support of a wide range of high-impact, high-visibility security and resilience-focused objectives. Typical initiatives require productive engagement with stakeholders from multiple Alphabet organizations and teams.

Your responsibilities will include operational oversight of initiatives planned and in flight, strategic assessment of incoming requests for team support, and for developing a support model that scales effectively and efficiently and harmoniously with GSRS and Alphabet partnerships and goals.

As an initiative owner, you will be responsible for the successful design, development, planning, and delivery of measurable, high-impact programs, services, and solutions. As a leader, you'll advocate a team of vendor partners responsible for successful, end-to-end delivery of all phases of the initiative lifecycle, setting them up for success with key stakeholders and clearing the path in support of frictionless delivery. As a thought leader, you combine up-to-date knowledge of Alphabet's and GSRS's strategic goals with your knowledge of latest relevant market, tech, economic, and industry trends to propose relevant, forward-thinking solution options throughout the initiative lifecycle in support of accelerating progress.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google's Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

  • Develop, manage, track and represent the Strategic Initiatives roadmap and resources, continuously optimizing plans, resources, and support models to accelerate delivery of effective, efficient initiatives in alignment with short- and long-term priorities.
  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of measurable effective, efficient solutions to a wide range of complex, global challenges spanning many business disciplines.
  • Assess high-priority issues, quantify impacts, distill root cause(s) and key variables, define resource constraints, integrate a broad range of expertise and resources to develop and communicate credible solution options to decision-makers of all levels.
  • Collaborate successfully across Alphabet at all levels, strengthening relationships, incorporating diverse user perspectives to increase impact, and engaging outside expertise as needed to scope challenges, socialize solutions, drive alignment, and negotiate timelines and resources.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, tailoring high-quality content effectively to stakeholder needs.
