Responsible for ensuring the NA client base is represented in overall product management, strategic vision, and focus for a significant product or product family within the TeamMate portfolio. Effectively manages all aspects of the line of business in support of the organization's goals and market needs.

Significant involvement in competitive analysis and market assessment activities and involved in marketing strategy based on the assessment of market trends, customer needs and competitive analysis. Understands NA market trends and needs and articulates needs in the form of product requirements. Plays proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace.

Establishes strategic programs for new products and enhancements, including identification of market segments, product positioning, pricing and profitability. Participates in the entire lifecycle of the project, working closely with development teams from product initiation to delivery to eventual product retirement.

Responsible for coordinating and collaborating the activities of product managers in other territories outside of the Americas and ensuring that detailed product management activities remain aligned with strategic goals and objectives.

  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research by identifying clients, prospective clients, and non-clients that may have an interest in a potential functional development. Working with those stakeholders through contextual design, market segmentation, and usability testing to gain an understanding of the customer problems and system usage.
  • Contextual design activities include developing screening surveys to identify participants, interviews (virtually or in person) to assess the function; observing the way that clients work while performing the function (e.g., types of data being used, where they are getting the data, general behaviors being used); documenting all information observed and collected; repeating the interview process to obtain a comprehensive data set (approximately 7-12 interviews).
  • Segmentation activities include development of surveys and questionnaires to identify client segments and validating findings of other market research projects. Cluster analysis of survey and questionnaire results to support definition of market segments. Analysis of data is reviewed and used to organize the data and clients into relevant customer segments to better set priority and the product roadmap.
  • Usability testing activities include the development of test scripts, identifying potential participants both client and non-client, planning and supervising usability labs, analyzing data to refine UX prior to release.
  • Lead a team through visioning, storyboarding, UI design and prototyping by creating and maintaining user personas for use in the design process. Defining high level feature requirements by creating an epic overview aligned with product and company strategy. Facilitate meetings with development team tier leads to identify key functionalities; working with business analyst (BA) and technical architects to determine the simplest way to achieve the desired result; analyzing workflows to ensure the proposed design meets functional specifications; working with a User Interface (UI) designer to develop a UI; validate the design with user personas and/or contextual design interviewees; gather and document interviewee and persona feedback (e.g., do they understand it, does it meet needs, is it simple, does it need anything extra); incorporating feedback into the design process; repeating the design process until all needs have been met; creating a functional and technical overview; present the overview to the development team; assist the Business Analyst team in expanding epic overview to include detailed system analysis, business rules, feature breakdown and non-functional requirements, facilitating group discussion to vet out problems, ask questions, and identify potential pain points from a development perspective; and overseeing the resolution of problems and questions for development.
  • Responsible for working with internal stakeholders in the NA territories to ensure software release cycle plans, client approved roadmaps and other release activities are communicated to direct and indirect channels responsible for Sales, Marketing, Professional Services and Support. Communicates a release plan for upcoming cycles to support Sales and Marketing teams and ensures alignment of activities and marketing collateral with product release. Leads territory client beta programs to gain feedback on new products from existing client base prior to release. Assists in delivering product training for Professional Services and Sales team. Assist the Product Management team with creation and maintenance of user documentation, technical documentation and release notes.
  • Mentors product management staff by coordinating training needs for non-Americas based product management staff and providing guidance on day-to-day activities. Makes strategic decisions based on information provided by product management staff.
  • Contributes to organizational success by sharing subject matter expertise by participating in user forums on an annual basis; teaching classes and serving as a backup trainer; participating in general session presentations; writing and maintaining user documentation, system protocols, procedures, and reference material; and coaching and mentoring junior product management staff to develop skills.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline; OR, if no degree, 6 years of business analysis or related experience.

Experience: 2 years of business analysis experience, including:

  • 5 years writing IT business requirements in a complex work environment.
  • Identifying customer needs.
  • Project management.
  • Writing test plans and test cases.
  • Documenting use case, requirements, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and data flow diagrams in a technical environment.
  • Creating executive-level content and detailed presentations.
  • Working with individuals at all levels of an organization, including C-level executives.
  • Experience, Knowledge and Tools
  • 2 years of business analysis experience, including:
  • 5 years writing IT business requirements in a complex work environment.
  • Identifying customer needs.
