Overview:

Groupon is building a global marketplace where people can buy just about anything, anywhere, anytime. We're enabling real-time e-commerce across an expanding range of categories including local businesses, travel destinations, consumer products, and live (and lively!) events. At the same time, we are creating amazing tools that merchants can use to grow and manage their businesses. Culturally, we believe that great people working together make great companies which is rooted in our values of building stronger communities. Community matters to us on an internal, local, and global scale—it's fundamental to our company's growth and to the well-being of the world at large.

We're powering communities by connecting our local merchants to millions of consumers so they can grow their businesses, while also making life less boring for customers.

The Team:

The Card Linked Offers team has re-invented the traditional experience of using and running a Groupon. Instead of printing-out or showing a voucher, we're moving the company to a voucher-less experience, where customers link a deal to their credit card and get instant savings whenever they swiped the linked card at our merchants. We call it "Groupon+", and it is the easiest way to save.

But the frictionless savings is just a part of the story -- the real opportunity is in the data. While big online brands are using data to talk to their customers, local merchants are left behind with no way to truly market to new customers aside the traditional tactics (chalkboards, flyers, mail). But merchants have always prided themselves on their personal touch! If they knew more about their customers they could build stronger relationships and grow. All of this is possible with card linked offers, where data can be used with Groupon's platform to give merchants the same tools the big brands use to grow their businesses.

The Role:

As a Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for building a suite of products that transforms Groupon to full CRM suite for local merchants. This means building the tools that help merchants find, engage, and retain customers and personalize offers. You will also be responsible for crafting and driving the broader merchant vision for Groupon+, and hiring a group of high performing PMs, and partnering closely with our sales team to convert your vision to reality.

What You'll Do:

  • Hire and manage a team of high performing PMs.
  • Craft a vision for the merchant product experience for Groupon+. Work closely with design, engineering, and QA to build and ship each feature, and then collaborate with Business Operations to measure results and iterate
  • Understand and empathize with merchant pain-points when it comes to marketing and coming up with ways to solve those pain-points in an ROI positive way.
  • Work closely marketing, sales, ops and corp dev teams on how we position, message, brand merchant products
  • Analyze data to identify strategies to systematically increase our merchant base from both an adoption and retention standpoint. Work closely with stakeholders to rollout strategies across the organization.
  • Build sales tools to streamline, automate, and improve the sales leads, on-boarding, and retention workflows.
  • Build relationships with people across all departments and be able to influence teams to buy into your vision. This includes stakeholders, but also executive staff all the way up to our C-suite.
  • Own the full product development lifecycle for your area: craft and communicate your vision, determine your KPIs, build your roadmap, and deliver your features

We're excited about you if you have:

  • 8+ years relevant industry experience; including 4+ years in Product Management.
  • An affinity for data: You can use data as both a informant and a tool for decision making, and you use data to stay close to customers and use it as an influence lever and tool for buy in.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit: You are a self-starter who can execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Strong Opinions: You should be able to form strong opinions, fight for them, but also be willing to listen so you make your opinions stronger over time.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, engineering, design, QA, sales, corporate development, finance, and GMs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and can engage/inspire your audience - including executives.
  • Understanding of payments industry and data integrations is a huge plus.
