As a Lead Product Designer you are multi-faceted and can identify as a service, interaction, visual, motion and content designer. You love complex design challenges, concepting and validating ideas with consumer research, and building prototypes through to polished design. You sweat the details both on and off the screen, have a desire to put things in the world that have a meaningful impact on people's lives, and thrive in a collaborative environment that values team over titles.
Empathetic & Curious: You have the ability to understand and identify with another person's context, emotions, goals, motivations and underlying needs to develop problem-solving approaches and guide decision making. You should also display curiosity about how people think—both people you design for and your colleagues.
Proactive: You can see a business need or opportunity, a situation to be reconciled, or a question to be asked and take initiative on your own, unprompted. Proactiveness means you review a situation and start conversations, follow up, or develop new ideas that move the ball down the field without being asked to do so.
Brand Steward: You understand how to translate the value and personality or "feeling" of a brand into an experience, and communicate it to different audiences including internal users, partners and customers —locally and globally, across various channels (mobile, web, etc.)
Aware of Systems: You exhibit systemic thinking about all of our projects. Whether considering how an isolated piece impacts or lives as part of a larger system, or defining a system that other designers can use as a toolkit, you consider how your work fits within the whole experience.
Effective Communicator: You communicate visually and can express your ideas with skill and grace whether standing at a whiteboard, drawing on a napkin, storyboarding a customer journey, or presenting on screen. You see design as a language and can explain what your design decisions are meant to communicate.
Collaborative: You demonstrate a strong, collaborative ethos and have the ability to inspire and facilitate collaboration with others.
Strategic: You're excited about the opportunity to help craft the product vision, understand how to effectively balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
