Job Description:

Harris Space and Intelligence Systems (SIS) has an exciting opportunity for a Harris Business Excellence (HBX) Deployment Champion to support our Rochester, New York operations. HBX is the overriding operating system for increasing organizational effectiveness to deliver on the Business Segments vision and strategic goals.

The SIS HBX team strives for operational excellence across all functional areas and processes by deploying Lean tools and Six Sigma principles. The Lead for Operational Excellence plays an active role in driving accelerated operating and financial performance through continuous process improvement and execution of breakthrough strategies. The selected candidate will have an understanding of the SIS business and work closely with each ofthe Business Areas to develop and manage the execution of strategic initiatives. This position requires goodgeneral business and productivity improvement knowledge, an understanding of SIS Business Area programs, big data analytics skills along with the ability to prepare executive level briefing decks and excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

This position has high visibility with the SIS leadership team and reports to the SIS Segment Lead for Operations Excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Work with SIS Business Area, Functional, and Corporate HBX leaders to analyze and improve processes toachieve maximum effectiveness, efficiency and productivity through the development of Productivity Initiatives.
  • Work with Business Areas and other functional leaders to develop operational breakthroughs in performanceby leveraging industry best practices, key innovations, and other methods in order to accelerate current performance.
  • Conduct program and department assessments to establish goals and project plans for continuous operational improvement.
  • Assist teams in developing an Operational Excellence model to use in the deployment of strategic objectives.
  • Coach and mentor Project leaders in the use of various tools, concepts and practices around HBX.
  • Assist Corporate Vice President HBX in the strategic direction of the HBX Office.
  • Develop and upgrade HBX materials including SIS Success Stories, Vignettes, Posters and Business Segment communications.
  • Develop project measures of success, analyze progress and evaluate outcomes.
  • An understanding of business principles, strategy, technology processes and operations.
  • Willingness to learn and develop an expertise with iGrafx Process Modeling and Simulation software.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; and 9 years related experience including, Operations, Engineering, and, or ProgramManagement or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative management style that will facilitate interaction with executives, colleagues and corporate partners.
  • Experience preparing executive presentation (PowerPoint and Excel skills) and leading large meetings.
  • Proven track record working lean projects.
  • Understanding of general finance.
  • Self-starter: action oriented / "can do" attitude / resourceful.
  • Coach, mentor and develop associates.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Emphasizing big data summary and fact finding.
  • Detailed knowledge of 6-Sigma concepts and tools, lean manufacturing techniques, problem solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific technology.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects/activities across the Segment.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
