This position may be in Pascagoula, MS or Washington, DC.

McKean Defense is seeking a Lead Network Engineer with at least 10 years of Program Management experience, 7 of which were in the last 10 years. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to work in a full-time capacity providing preventative and remedial maintenance on hardware, networks, systems and applications.

In this position you will analyze and troubleshoot system functionality and health, identify, implement and test required updates and repairs. This includes procurement and management of network equipment, parts, spares and materials; install, de-install, relocate and re-install hardware; develop and create accurate system documentation and configuration management; provide familiarization training on the network system; and provide basic operating system, encryption device, SAN, VSAN, NAS and network administration.

This is a challenging, but very rewarding, opportunity to work on a very complex system for the United States Navy. Position is full time with benefits, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Required Skills

  • The candidate must have or acquire an IAT Level II certification, see instruction DODINST 8570.1-M for guidance.
  • Candidate must possess A Master ‘s degree in Business, Management or Engineering and the following certifications: Operating System training certificate Linux / Microsoft 2008 or higher, Security+ CISSP and CCNA.
  • The position requires the candidate possess an activity Secret SSBI security clearance.

Required Experience

  • Candidate must have at least ten years’ experience providing maintenance, technical and logistic support for network systems; configuring and maintaining Firewall Servers; loading and maintaining Bulk Encryption devices. Candidate must have basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, CISCO and VMWare. Minimal travel required.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • 5 years of LAN/WAN management experience.
