Leading the logistics team performing logistics engineering functions including reliability and maintainability calculations to achieve customer system operational availability requirements. This will entail the vision, guidance and leadership skills necessary to logistically support the initial design, develop system requirements, perform requirements analysis, system engineering, software engineering, and development of software systems to ensure the required operational availability (Ao) requirement is met and maintained for the life cycle of the fielded system.

This is a significant position in a high profile and technically challenging program, a knowledge of acquisition logistics best practices in a secure environment is critical to leading this effort. A successful candidate must be able to work on an integrated team.

Specific duties include:

- Provide technical and team leadership to incorporate logistics support discipline into the hardware and software design interjecting the necessary support requirements at every phase of the system lifecycle through development, prototype, test,deployment and system operation until system deactivation and disposal.

- Work with the Chief Engineer to ensure logistics elements are properly integration of system and capability to achieve the required Ao.

- Recommend, sparing levels and maintenance procedures to ensure that the system operational availability is achieved and maintained throughout the entire system lifecycle.

- Work with the engineering team to develop a hardware and software configuration baseline that will be the basis of procuring the system material. Work with the procurement team to ensure all design and build materials are procured according to the FAR/DFAR and all contract clauses and conditions.

- Lead the team in tracking, receiving and storing system material for test, build and deployment. Develop, staff and lead the logistics team in program execution

- Develop methodologies and metrics to track reliability growth throughout the design process; and monitor Ao for fielded systems using the Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).

- Develop logistics support strategies, plans, processes and procedures to ensure proper system support.

Necessary Skills:

- The Lead Logistician requires strong knowledge and experience in the design and development of logistics support for mission critical systems in a multi-level security enclave.

- Experience in large system-of-systems design

- Familiar with system engineering design process (IEEE12207)

- Experience with acquisition logistics support processes for system development, test and fielding in a secure military environment

- Experience with system designs in a team environment.

- Experienced leadership at the senior program manager level.

- Experienced working with FRACAS, and Operational Availability (Ao) calculations.

- Experienced in developing lifecycle logistics policy in accordance with the DoD 5000 (series)



- Required: Minimum of 5 years applied work experience in the acquisition logistics support of design, development and engineering of Mission Critical or Weapon systems

- Preferred: 10 years of experience in in leading or performing on Acquisition or Lifecycle Logistics teams.

Education & Experience:

- Required: Bachelor’s degree in logistics management or business management 8 years of experience in DoD/DoN weapons acquisition programs.

- Preferred: Master of Science or higher degree in Logistics Management of Business Management with 10 or more years of Weapons Systems Acquisition experience.

- Must possess a current DoD TS/SCI Clearance

- Must possess an SSBI that is current within the last 5 years

- Must able to pass a CI polygraph examination
