Job Summary

Lead the analysis of complex systems. Plan, design, evaluate, select operating systems and protocol suites and configure communication media. Lead team in resolution of interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms. Lead the support of clients by consulting and recommending solutions. Lead the analysis of capacity studies and recommend technical solutions for infrastructure growth. Lead in assessing new and/or advanced technical system technologies and recommend possible implementation strategies.

Job Description

The CenturyLink IT organization is seeking an experienced Lead IT Engineer who will operate in a small agile team responsible for the development of automation solutions utilizing Resolve Systems', Resolve application and other open source platforms. This Lead IT Engineer will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, demonstrate the ability to challenge the status quo, influence others to embrace new processes, and motivate others toward continual improvement in the performance of the organization. This posion will lead the team in architecting a new diagnostic orchestration system by designing, evaluting, and providing recommendations on solution platforms. This Lead IT Engineer will provide direction to the team for the targeted transition of automations from Resolve to a newly developed system. This new system will provide for accelerated incident resolution, increase employee productivity, reduce operational expense, and improve the customer experience through the automation of network trouble resolution.

  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM Methodologies and development practices.
  • Enterprise development knowledge.
  • Knowledge of network protocols a plus.
  • Experience in networking with respect to routing, switching, and protocols such as TCP/UDP, SYSLOG, SFTP, SSH, and SNMP a plus.

Education

Bachelors or Equivalent in Information Systems or Computer Science
