Essential Job Functions
Communication Strategy: Development and execution of communications tasks and projects for internal audiences enterprise-wide, such as annual Open Enrollment and other benefits changes/promotions, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, sustainability efforts and change initiatives that affect large groups of leaders and/or associates. Gather and synthesize information, and develop communications strategies, plans and tactics based on partners’ communication needs and goals, audiences’ needs and available measurement tools. Write and edit communications for a variety of audiences and channels. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. Demonstrates strong interviewing and information gathering skills, the ability to synthesize and communicate information for various audiences to easily consume and understand, and leverage visibility of multiple projects to provide consultation. Provide supporting creative direction and detailed feedback.
Project Management: Accountable for the project management of communication strategies and plans from initial ideation to execution and delivery, serving as the subject matter expert on linking the business intent to the communications and creative output and owning a specialized area and/or high visibility projects. Accountable that all projects are reviewed for errors with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time period with accuracy and attention to detail. Must have outstanding project management skills and the ability to multi-task, including the ability to lead a large number of projects with multiple components, and the ability to deliver work on time, on budget and error-free.
Building Relationships: Build relationships and identify business connections with internal teams to maximize efficiency. Proactively ask questions about business and audience needs by identifying meaningful opportunities to impact both. Collaborate with Communications Delivery & Brand Reputation, Account Management, Creative teams (design and editorial) on timing and delivery of written and designed communications, feedback from internal partners and revised tactics. Own relationships with internal partners who request communications support and counsel them on effective communications solutions. Develops and manages relationships at all levels. Builds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with senior leaders, executives, and regulatory bodies. Values effective communication and the importance of building consensus.
Stakeholder communication: Demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time with accuracy and attention to detail. Utilizes critical thinking skills to help analyze business issues, collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems, is strategic, and gains consensus on the best solution. Demonstrates outstanding Verbal and Written Communication skills when working with internal and external partners and at leadership Presentations.
Leadership – Invested in the development of associates and their continued success. Take part in teach and learn environment by providing feedback to direct reports and mentoring other specialists. Lead, Coach, motivate, challenge and provide managerial guidance to the team. Develop and execute training programs for the team. Utilizes excellent communication skills to articulate a strategic vision to the team. Solve problems and make decisions with sound judgement. Provides continuous feedback and completes formal performance evaluations as directed by the organization. Values associate recognition and celebrating the accomplishments of individual team members as well as the overall team. Lead both direct reports and other associates to accomplish company initiatives.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, some travel may be required.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in journalism, communications or public relations or equivalent related education and/or experience
Five or more years professional work experience in Corporate Communications or Internal Communications
Master’s in Business Administration or other advanced degree in journalism, communications or public relations or equivalent related education and/or experience
