The Colorado Design Center (CoDC) within Ricoh Commercial & Industrial Printing is looking for an Information Developer with excellent technical writing and organizational skills to join our team. This individual will work with a global team that develops and supports leading-edge print and communications management workflow software.

Members of the writing team are integrated with software engineers and architects in an Agile environment. They develop user documentation for a range of software products, from rich clients to client/server applications to cloud-based applications. The selected candidate will analyze technical specifications to determine what information a user needs to successfully use the function, then define user stories to update the documentation. They will coordinate with an international team of writers and developers to complete the implementation.

The candidate must be familiar with information development concepts and have experience creating end-user documentation for software products. They must be able to work as part of a large team and have a positive, cooperative, and dedicated attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing for translation.
  • Familiarity with information design principles and task-oriented writing.
  • Experience leading small teams.
  • Familiarity with markup languages such as HTML, SGML, or DITA XML.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the technical writing or product documentation fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Experience with Arbortext Editor and Component Content Management Systems (CCMSs).
  • Experience in continuous integration/continuous deployment environments.
  • Ability to work across cultures, with teams in both Europe and Asia.
  • Exposure to markup, scripting, or coding languages (HTML, XML, Python, Javascript, Perl, etc.).

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or a related field of study.
