Position Summary - Lead Project Manager:
This position is responsible for the oversight of multiple major project(s) within the business unit, ensuring cross project coordination. The Lead PM is the primary liaison with customers and division management regarding the projects within a given program. The incumbent will develop effective relationships with both internal and external customers.
Essential Functions - Lead Project Manager:
Leads Project Managers in the development of project plans, schedules, budgets, and security plans for projects within a program and performs overall monitoring of projects. Communicates status regarding the program to customers and business unit management.
Develops, finalizes and manages the project plan for projects, including the timeline, budget, and security/communication plan. Monitors the progress of projects as well as the scope to ensure they are completed in an accurate and timely manner according to the customer’s and Company’s requirements. Performs actual to plan comparison on the project, identifies any deviation from the project baseline and requests timeline extensions and/or additional budget. Ensures projects are adhering to internal project management standards and that internal and external project status reports are prepared.
Assists in the hiring, training, and mentoring of Project Office personnel. Manages Project Management Office staff including performance evaluation, coaching, and feedback. Acts as mentor to staff providing input to management regarding their performance.
Manages customers’ expectations with regard to the program and works with customers to turn ideas into future business opportunities.
Provides input regarding project management processes and assists in preparing cost and technical proposals. Requirements - Lead Project Manager:
Four year degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing projects and programs using a formal project management methodology.
Healthcare knowledge (understanding of healthcare technology, value based payment arrangements, accountable care organizations, social determinants of health) is required.
Additional Comments - Lead Project Manager:
5-15% local and overnight travel.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience with Earned Value Management and MS Project Server preferred.
Experience with CMMI or similar SDLC methodologies preferred. Work Environment - Lead Project Manager:
