This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas where the Lead Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer will work in a collaborative engineering team environment of design and analysis support for guidance, navigation and control for space vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work in a collaborative engineering team environment to produce GNC systems for a commercial human spaceflight module
· Responsible for design, development, testing, certification, and operation of human-rated commercial spacecraft GNC system
· Perform trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations
· Develop interface control documentation for connection to the International Space Station
· DDT&E and operation of GNC systems
· Perform parametric sizing and determine optimal configurations for varying design inputs
· Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes
· Drive team to a successful launch and integration to the ISS by 2024
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
· 15+ years working in systems engineering
· B.S. in Engineering, Math or Science required (graduate degree preferred)
· 7+ years of experience in management/leading teams
· Demonstrable mastery/success designing, developing, testing, and verifying spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems
· Experience with simulation and modeling, 6DOF Trajectory Design, Monte Carlo analysis, Phase controllers, PID controllers, IMU/S, GPS, Star Trackers, Optical navigation, Relative Navigation techniques, C++ Programing, Trick, Chronos simulation, and integrated performance analysis
