What You Will Do: In this position you will support financial reporting related to Life & Health Insurance. We want you to become one of our technology experts using your skills and experience to help us find new ways to collect and review data, present information, and modernize our processes.

What You Will Learn: Gain exposure to Transamerica's financial reporting processes and our Life and Health products. This opportunity will allow you to become a subject matter expert, find areas of improvement, take ownership, and set direction in Financial Reporting, while interacting with multi-functional groups throughout Finance and the Transamerica organization. You will have the ability to support different, challenging projects related to Financial Reporting.

What Success Looks Like:

  • An understanding of the reporting environment, its tools, the stakeholders, and required deliverables
  • Extract financial data from various accounting and information systems to perform appropriate analyses.
  • Analyze financial data and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project future financial results.
  • Drive enhancements and improvements to the reporting and presentation tools used by Financial Reporting.
  • Liaise with Technology to explore new options related to presentation & visualization of data
  • Lead/support the delivery of special projects within Life & Health Financial Reporting
  • Collaborate with multi-functional groups (Actuarial, controllership, etc.) to successfully meet the needs of the company.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 Years of experience
  • Advanced skills with MS Excel, including Office data connections and pivot tables.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, and MSBI tools is highly desirable
  • Conceptual, logical and/or Physical data modeling experience is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, ability to handle multiple projects, willingness to take on new projects, customer service approach, highly analytical.
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and challenges Insurance Industry experience preferred
