Job Description

Job Objective: With minimal supervision, provides full estimating services including final close out,
subject to final review on on water/wastewater, industrial, municipal or similar large, complex facility construction projects giving administrative and technical
direction to ensure that corporate objectives are met.
Primary Responsibilities
* Perform design/build, Engineer, Procure, Construction Management,
guaranteed maximum price, and hard?bid estimates/proposals including
final close out. Analyze quotations both prior to and on bid day. Evaluate
bids of sub?contractors and suppliers for completeness of scope of work,
delivery time, and compliance with the specifications and other
* Enter quantity take?off's in Timberline, material unit pricings as applicable
to project. Recognize and apply appropriate work breakdown structure
(WBS) structure. Ability to process and identify complete scope of project
with limited levels of design definition
* Mentor, train and lead teams of Co?ops, Construction Specialist’s,
Estimator II and Senior Estimators in their duties, in estimating procedures,
and in the use of estimating software. Review and close out of estimates
prepared by Senior Estimators.
* Responsible for transmitting/communicating final estimate and
basis to internal/external client
* Prepare Opinions of Probable Construction Cost estimates and
Design/Build and ability to close out proposal or bids for at risk work.
* Assist Chief Estimator in coordination of overall corporate estimating
* Contact subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing 5%
* Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combinations
of technical and/or related experience; Minimum 10 years estimating, controls and or engineering
Other Construction Industry experience in lieu of degree.
Experience: Construction field experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques,
cost control and material pricing; Thorough knowledge of company policies, procedures and standards;
Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications. Ability to perform conceptual estimates in
many trades and review estimates in most trades; Advanced knowledge of multiple disciplines,
estimating techniques and cost controls. Ability to estimate most types of projects/contracts; Strong
personal computer skills including intermediate knowledge of estimating, and On? Screen digitizing
software; Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills essential; Ability to “Close
out” a project, including proper application of mark?ups; Fluent command of spoken and written
