SUMMARY

The Lead Database Administrator is responsible for architecting complex database and data warehouse Infrastructure solutions, while implementing and supporting sound database designs, data integrity controls and securitycontrols.   Under minimal guidance, lead projects and resource management, while supporting Infrastructure solutions that meet business needs.  Collaborate with Information Services team members on standard administration tasks, such as backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, installation, configuration, disaster recovery, and meeting performance service level agreements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect and enhance complex Database and Data Warehouse infrastructure solutions to meet business needs, while following industry and Smucker best practices. As an individual contributor leader, partner with other corporate warehouse team members in executing the warehouse strategy and its portfolio of projects.

  • Architects the plan, design, construction and execution of complex sized database solutions
  • Responsible for thought leadership, execution and enforcement of Smucker security and auditing policies and controls
  • Collaborate with IS and business to understand and prioritize data(normalize/denormalize form) and information requirements
  • Architect the plan, design, and implementation of business intelligence tools
  • Develops standards, policies and procedures for security, promote to production, data structure and attributes for business intelligence reporting tools and systems
  • Collaborate with IS team members on standard administration tasks as backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, installation, configuration, disaster recovery, and performance service level agreements
  • Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery and testing procedures

Lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements:

  • Under minima guidance, owns the design, construction and execution
  • Manages projects for supported business area
  • Executes and enforces standards & methodologies around project management and change management
  • Delivers project scope (people, process, and technology)

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 7+ years of Oracle RDBMSexperiencerequired (versions 12c, 11g)
  • 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experiencerequired (2012+)
  • 5+ years architecting high availability database solutions required
  • 5+ years of Oracle Exadata or Exalogic experiencerequired
  • 5+ years data modeling experiencerequired
  • 3+ years Oracle Replication/GoldenGateexperiencerequired
  • PLSQL and Unix/Linux Scripting (Posix, Korn, Bash)
  • Experience managing web server computing, multi-tiered enterprise applications and client server architectures
  • Automation/scripting tool experience
  • Working knowledge of Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 (AXF eBS Integration for Imaging: FIPSA 11.1.1.4.7) preferred
  • Working knowledge of OID/OVD and OAM and WebLogic Security Architecture
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Working Knowledge of J2EE framework components including JDBC, JMS, and JNDI
  • Working knowledge of WLST. Python/Jthon scripting a plus
  • Working knowledge of Fusion Middleware and WebLogic Diagnostic Framework (WLDF)
  • Strong understanding of Intranet and Extranet Architecture
