The Lead JOC Project Manager will be headquartered in Houston with travel throughout Houston as the project requires. As the Program Manager or Lead Project Manager, you will work in the capacity of a JOC Manager or Project Manager while overseeing 2-3 otherConstruction Project Managers of public sector work.
In this role, you will manage projects while overseeing the others. Your role may include overseeing progress at a construction site, interfacing with both the constructioncontractors, engineers, and supporting personnel. In addition to maintaining the project schedule and budget, you will review invoices, negotiate and enforce terms of the project contracts, and maintain oversite and responsibility for assigned projects. As the Lead PM, you will oversee projects run by the Project Managers providing advice, guidance, and training when necessary. You will be responsible for the overall direction of the public project. You must work in conjunction with city and county policies and applicable laws.
Manage, oversee and mentor a team of project managers and project coordinators. Manage, review and coordinate the design and construction of projects assigned to the team. Assist, informs and consults with the Director and Assistant Director concerning the status of projects. Provides departmental interface and responds to customer complaints and concerns. Coordinates projects with utilities, business and community leaders. Develops and implements departmental standard operating procedures. Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge and understanding of Job Order Contracting
• Experience in Public Sector Construction working with the City, County, School Districts, or Municipal
• A valid Driver’s License
• PMP or MPM is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of municipal government purchasing
