The Role

This position will be responsible for undertaking multiple complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge in the areas of Solution Architecture, APIs, and Application Development for our Edge Cloud Solutions Candidate should possess a desire to look for opportunities to incorporate enterprise technologies within our Dev Ops organization and other up-and-coming technologies. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous architecture issues. Coordinates with other Architects, Process Analysts, Developers, and Business partners to determine solutioning requirements. Ensures the appropriate solutions are being implemented to increase efficiency and minimize overhead. Establishes and communicates common goals and direction for the team. Acts as a resource for training and guidance to less experienced staff.

The Main Responsibilities

• Solution Architect/Engineering plays a similar role to System Architect/Engineering, but for large solutions, and are focused on creating technical alignment for the full solution rather than concerns for specific components. Responsibilities include working with portfolio stakeholders, customers, suppliers, ARTs, and Solution Train stakeholders to align the architectural direction with the solution intent. They have similar responsibilities for solution vision, solution roadmap, enabler capabilities and solution demo activities as well
• Solution Architect/Engineering has a crucial role in pre-and post-PI planning, as well as solution train I&A events. They also work with suppliers, making sure the technical characteristics for supplier-delivered capabilities are understood and assisting with the architectural integration of these concerns
• Provides technical direction to projects and services in an assigned area from design to production
• Process documentation and analysis including specification of system requirements for business processes (data, presentation, and logic)
• Ensure that the project is on schedule, is high quality, and meets required ROI targets
• Maintain knowledge in several of the following areas: code development, Enterprise System Architecture, midrange development, software development lifecycle management, software testing methodology, production deployment, technical architecture, development, and requirements management
• Accountable for timely project completion and delivery
• Manages project risks, issues, and escalations by identifying and escalating to leadership for assistance in applying mitigation strategies to ensure overall project success
• Input all necessary data for project tracking and planning where applicable
• Provides continuous advice and best practices to developers and Project Manager related to delivery approach and strategy
• Utilize appropriate applications required for Architectural designs and documentation, e.g., MS Visio, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Look for opportunities to implement future technologies
• Partner closely with our overall Dev Ops team leads and other Solution Architects to translate the customer's business requirements to define value and solution scope
• Assist Project Managers to ensure smooth delivery of solutions
• Recommend solution approach and strategy based on analysis and enterprise maturity

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience
• 8 years related technical experience
• Previous Development and Architecture experience
• Previous API Development & Testing knowledge (SOAP/REST)
• Experience with API platforms such as SoapUi, Postman, and Swagger
• Experience supporting operations on Compute virtualization such as Redhat OSP, VMWare
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to drive change
• Knowledge and development experience of various development technologies and / or enterprise platforms
• Experience with database structures, permissions, and PL/SQL

Preferred:

• Experience with platforms such as ITSM solutions, Morpheus, Kubernetes
• Skilled with programming languages, such as, C#, Python, Java (Spring)

Salary Range

Salary Min $83430 Salary Max $185400

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
