Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting the Enterprise Business Continuity program.  Reports to the Manager of Business Continuity under the CISO.  Assist in establishing a comprehensive and effective business continuity program that will better prepare our organization to mitigate and minimize disruptive events that would otherwise impact critical business functions.  This will be achieved through interaction and collaboration with all levels of the organization.
Provide consultation to business units to ensure that critical business functions are identified and plans exist for resuming critical business functions within a defined time frame.  Work directly with plan owners to coordinate the design, development, maintenance, and exercising (testing) of the overall disaster recovery and business resumption plans for each critical area of the organization. Conduct frequent business continuity table-top exercises (Loss of Building, Technology, People) and report results/recommendations to senior management.  Establish and maintain BCP Website to foster program communication and BC education.
Act as the system administrator for the business continuity software; conduct training for all system users; and act as the point of contact with the software vendor.  Responsible for ensuring that Business Unit Resumption plans are included in the Enterprise BC Software, and reviewed and/or updated semi-annually.  Responsible for responding to all internal and external audit requests, and implementing approved audit recommendations.  Responsible for working with Corporate Compliance to ensure that all business continuity plans are in compliance with State, Federal, and Healthcare regulations.  Work with all external vendors that provide solutions/software to the organization and verify they also have documented business continuity plans that are tested annually.

Maintain accurate and complete program performance metrics for Management awareness. Perform continuous monitoring of program activities in order to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency. Research and incorporate  industry and corporate best practices into the Business Continuity program as appropriate.

Manages and leads automated system projects through all phases of the system development life cycle including the design, development, implementation, modification, planning, estimating, feasibility testing and evaluation of automated systems. Makes recommendations concerning all of the above. Provides input to the manager concerning software evaluations. Manages the routine support efforts, including balancing team assignments. Coaches and gives ongoing reviews of employee performance. Supports the continuous process of optimizing department resources. Provides best solutions to identified needs, meeting operational and business objectives, technology capabilities, and human resource requirements. Maintains the ongoing service relationships between the IT department and its direct application customers, and is a liaison to other departments and entities. Provides after-hours support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads IT projects, including planning, obtaining customer input and projecting resource requirements.
  • Reviews system requirements with customers and translates requirements into specific functions or deliverables.
  • Analyzes flow chart processes and recommends ways to reduce steps and increase efficiency through use of technology.
  • Plans, schedules and manages multiple projects requiring computer resources including project scheduling.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Health Sciences, Healthcare Admin or related field.
  • Or Associate’s degree and seven years recent experience implementing information systems may offset the Bachelor’s degree requirement 
  • Or Nine years of recent experience implementing information systems may offset the Bachelor’s degree requirement

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Understands principles of client/server configuration.
  • Excellent knowledge of messaging technology and project management skills.

Work Experience:

  • Four years system implementation experience, including directing, planning and scheduling a major information system project. For the Lead Clinical Analysts role, six years of relevant hospital or major medical center clinical experience and three years of recent experience implementing and supporting a major clinical information system required
  • Strong analytical, administrative, presentation, and project management skills are required
  • Must have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work independently.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Security

  • 5 yearexperience in Business Continuity Management

  • 2 years IT Disaster Recovery Experience

  • Experience with audit and healthcare regulatory requirements ( HIPAA; JCAHO; PCI; etc.)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.

  • Recognized business continuity certification ( ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, CISSP, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the Foundation and to function in a stressful environment.
