NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Lead Business Analyst with P&C Insurance to join our team in San Antonio, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).



Perform a project requirements assessment for a modernization project to convert from a legacy system to a COTS insurance management system for Policy and Claims administration.

Establish a Requirements Management Plan, which defines strategy, processes, procedures, templates, traceability, document management, communication, and quality standards for all requirements related activities.

Oversee the activities of other Business Analysts assigned to the project including work assignments, reviewing work products, and mentoring.

Lead Business Owners through a regular Backlog grooming process as input to Sprint planning processes.

Manage the requirements documentation lifecycle from document creation, approval, and modifications resulting from design clarifications and change controls. Ensure all BA’s assigned to project conform to the document management procedures.

Collaborate with Project Manager, Business Owners, Technical Teams, other Vendors, and End Users to elicit future state business process flows, business requirements, and functional requirements.

Create requirements documentation in the form of UI wireframes, user stories, acceptance criteria, story maps, diagrams, business process flows and other appropriate visual representations.

Perform reverse engineering activities on the legacy system to extract business rules. Perform analysis and work with the Business Owners to determine which business rules to carry forward to the new system.

Collaborate with Technical Team on solution approaches and participate in Design reviews to ensure solutions fulfill requirements.

Conform to the document management procedures and requirements quality standards established for the project.

Establish professional relationships with business to understand their business needs and objectives.

Support risk compliance process by identifying issues and collaborating with the team to analyze risks and develop mitigation strategies.  

Support technical design, development, testing and other support activities by answering questions, participating in reviews and providing background information about business needs and requirements/user stories

Support UAT efforts including providing direction to Business Owners writing UAT test cases, facilitating UAT sessions, and triaging UAT questions and issues.



8+ yrs of BA experience
Must be familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology
Must be familiar with P&C insurance terminologies, LOBs and processes
Experience in commercial and specialty lines P&C policy administration, rating, quoting, binding, policy issuance and Claims systems
Ability to read and understand insurance product manuals is a huge plus
Ability to work on their own as a business analyst and form relationships with the business and the technical team
Elicit and compile business requirements, and write functional and technical specifications.
Create and review UI mock-ups, Visio diagrams, and specifications.
Support risk compliance issues, monitoring and reporting, and project management team.
Able to read and interpret XML
Experience with projects related to bi-directional data integration between carrier policy administration systems and MGA systems
Experience identifying solution modifications, configurations, and processes impacts a plus.
Experience implementing Guidewire or eBao digital insurance platform a plus.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of Business Analyst experience
  • 3 plus years of Insurance analysis experience preferrably Property and Casualty (P&C)
