You’re a creative, motivated, aspiring Lead Automation Engineer who will be the bridge between the QA & Development engineering teams. You can run with the Agile methodology, assist with automation of test plans, and improve the test coverage of our existing application. You’re not just a skilled, hands-on automation engineer – you’re also a mentor to the existing team members and will be dedicated to guiding and training them.

What you’ll do:

You’ll work with product managers and tech leads to identify and prioritize components for automation, focusing on industry best practices. You’ll balance the tradeoffs between time, resources, and requirements. Your strong communication skills will help you articulate direction and details – and coordinate focus on the big picture. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Interact with development teams to help incorporate optimized and re-usable functional tests
  • Develop and integrate an automated testing framework into our release process
  • Take on the QA process end-to-end – starting from analyzing requirements, reviewing technical design, and building and maintaining test automation frameworks for UI, API and mobile functional automation
  • Research, identify, and implement newer test automation technologies
  • Document and train team members on best practices, tools, and coding standards

Skills, accomplishments, & interests you should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline
  • Knowledge of various software development lifecycle models and software quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience with web services and API testing
  • Hands-on knowledge of Java, Unix shell, and SQL
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins (or alternative), containerization, and cloud deployment & testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex ideas, designs and issues to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment with a focus on exceptional service delivery

Nice to haves:

  • Experience testing microservices
