As the Lead API Architect, you will deliver a first-class native API approach to leverage AWM-wide APIs and drive greater business value through reuse. You will define our API Governance, API Standards and be responsible for our API Platform. You will combine your years of experience with a passion for improving all aspects of how we build extraordinary solutions that focus on establishing standards and guidelines, delivery enablement for our engineers and continuous improvement across the organization.

Your success in this organization will be based on:

  • · Your combination of education and experience of API development and management to design and implement standards, governance, patterns and best practices.
  • · Creation of a robust internal / external API platform / marketplace and the rationalization and consolidation of our existing API library.
  • · Solutions you have delivered that will positively influence our engineering teams' ability to seamlessly, and continuously, improve business delivery lead time.
  • · Your ability to define, communicate and implement solutions that mature the overall engineering eco-system.
  • · Effective communication and shared understanding across our engineering and business communities with lessons learned, issues and best practices.
  • · Detailed reviews of technology programs and assess their alignment with strategic architecture and business aims, engineering practices, and efficient working practices.
  • · Challenging the status quo and drive continuous improvement across the Engineering community.
  • · Adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies and encourage others within the organization to follow suit.

· 10+ years’ experience in the API management platforms and API related activities including solution architecture and design, API modeling and micro-services architecture.

  • · At least 5 years' of hands-on development experience and managing a team of 5 - 10 engineers.
  • · Expert in the development of scalable enterprise applications using Spring Framework / Springboot, JSON, REST and micro-services.
  • · Experience leading and mentoring Agile teams with a substantial commitment to DevOps practices.
  • · Ability to build software solutions on private and public Cloud providers.

· Strong understanding of OWASP, SAML, Oauth SSL and other security tools, technologies and guidelines.
