On our team, you’ll get the opportunity to work with world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investment through the development of cutting-edge technologies for military applications. You will leverage your technical expertise to support senior DoD decision makers with the strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps in need of investment. You’ll support our customer’s mission by providing recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs by preparing in-depth analyses, conducting background research, traveling to R&D facilities, and interfacing with the R&D community. You will directly impact our warfighters’ capabilities by working closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research and communicating technical findings to a wide audience. This position is located in Arlington, VA with occasional travel to various CONUS locations up to 25% of the time.

You Have:
-5+ years of experience in optical engineering in a professional or graduate-level research environment
-3+ years of experience in working with laser devices, systems, and applications
-Knowledge of optoelectronic devices, including operating principles, key characteristics, and design and test methodologies
-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
-Ability to travel to CONUS locations up to 25% of the time
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-MS degree in Science or Engineering
Nice If You Have:
-Experience in optical phased arrays and high-power laser systems
-Experience with optoelectronic integration, advanced device structures, and thermal management
-Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored R&D programs
-Experience collaborating with multiple organizations on government-sponsored research activities
-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Active Top Secret clearance preferred
-PhD degree in Physics, EE, Optics, or a related field
