Full Job Description
As a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will lead the EHS department at the respective Lab/R&D locations. You will work closely with the local management and report directly to the AR EHS Global Lab Safety Manager.

Key job responsibilities
• Owning EHS compliance for a robotics research and development lab
• Conducting risk assessments and influencing implementation of risk reduction measures
• Advising employees and management on the subject of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations
• Advising and influencing designs around machinery safety requirements and standards
• Familiarity and compliance with ISO 13849
• Implementing legal and Amazon internal requirements in occupational health safety and environmental regulations
• Working with various support functions (HR, Engineering, Facilities)
• Ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Occupational Safety and Health laws and guidelines as well as company guidelines and completing the necessary formalities to comply with them
• Evaluating accidents and statistics and developing prevention programs to avoid accidents
• Creating a safe work culture and promoting commitment to occupational health and safety measures of management and teams
• Close cooperation with the local fire brigade, the occupational health and safety authorities and any professional associations and maintaining these relationships

About the team

The Amazon Robotics (AR) Technology Enablement & Solutions (TES) Team enables AR's people, purpose, and place to deliver the future. We remove barriers, drive organizational productivity, and foster growth. We serve AR leadership, product customers, and employees, and collaborate with teams throughout FTR. Creating a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace experience. Designing and iterating on learning, development, and engagement solutions to support needs of operators and employees. Synthesizing and articulating AR's long-term strategy, near-term goals, product roadmaps, and workforce strategy. Developing and managing cross organizational mechanisms, reporting, programs, and Sustainability efforts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

- Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field

- Experience using strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge and experience with foundational machinery safety standards such as ISO 12100, R15.06, ISO 10218, ISO 13849, NFPA79, etc.

- Experience leading safety engineering programs in R&D, manufacturing, or production environment

- Deep knowledge and experience of safety risk assessment, functional safety analysis and electrical safety

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field

- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques

- Deep knowledge and extensive experience of driving safety systematically into R&D labs and/or production systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
