North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

As members of the Health System Accounts Team (HSAT), Key Account Specialists are responsible for advancing the AstraZeneca Bio-Pharmaceutical Business unit which includes CV-Metabolic, Renal, and Respiratory Biologics. This person is responsible for achievement of assigned objectives in targeted Health Systems. The focus of the Health Systems, Key Account Specialist will be centered on executing pull-through initiatives to improve account performance. Collaborating with business partners and communicating key market insights while executing strategic account plans that advance AstraZeneca objectives will be paramount. These individuals will work closely with the Health Systems Key Accounts team to ensure portfolio success.

Accountability:

  • Builds strong relationships with key decision makers along the care continuum; (HCPs, mid-levels, case managers, nursing supervisors, discharge coordinators, etc) and works identify opportunities to work with the customer on areas of mutual benefit
  • Capitalizes on formulary approvals and other identified opportunities through effective implementation and evolution of the strategic account plan
  • Develops and nurtures key opinion leaders within health systems to create brand advocates
  • Partners with Health System/Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists around common objectives to coordinate pull through efforts and promote collaboration within the System
  • Utilizes business analytic platforms to understand and evaluate the business in-order to maximize pull-through opportunities
  • Develops and displays expertise in brand solutions, account dynamics, and local market conditions to appropriately align resources that aid in on-label patient identification and transition to community
  • Fully engages at local and regional conferences, conventions, and other offsite meetings to establish meaningful stakeholder contacts within health systems to generate brand support
  • Understands patient flow through the hospital system and into the community allowing teams to better support the patient journey
  • Comprehensive understanding of doing business the right way adhering to AZ standards

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or health care/sales including experience with the different account customer types
  • Hospital/IDN knowledge and expertise
  • Proven record of results, and self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence without authority
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and computer skills are essential
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pull through strategies at the institutional level
  • Demonstrated experience in targeted health systems
  • Prior relevant therapeutic area and targeted marketplace experience
  • Ability to execute strategy within a cross functional team
  • Experience launching pharmaceuticals
