Summary Coordinates activities of Key Account’s projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Direct and coordinate all activities of project through the entire process (from the quoting stage through installation), to ensure the project is delivered on budget, on schedule and within scope by performing the following duties personally or through other staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

Main point of interface between the customer, sales engineer, outside sales representatives, engineering, and the plant.

 Provide technical assistance to resolve problems.

 Work with the customer to determine solutions based on customer objectives.

Review project specifications, requirements, legal documents, and all other project documents

Understand product scope

Document deviations and exceptions (with assistance from the engineering review team)

Review potential cost savings options

Coordinate project initiation efforts with employees, including the customer as needed

Engineering Review

Pre BOM creation if needed

Exception/deviation identification

Constraint/assumptions identifications
Spec Review

Submittals

Witness Test (if applicable)
 
Finalize scope of work

Develop project schedule, milestones and determine all roles and responsibilities (to gain resource support from the Managers of the Engineering, Procurement, Operations, testing departments, mechanical and electrical engineers on record and any other departments/resources that apply)
Hold kickoff meetings (internal and with customer)

 Report project progress to senior management and the Key Account, mediate problems encountered by team members
 Request and implement approved changes to scope; ensuring a change order has been received (if applicable)

 Monitor and control the project in regards to new risks, project changes, issues, cost variance, schedule impacts, and project influencers

Coordinate customer visits and witness test (if applicable)
 

Perform project closeout
 
Provide management with updates on the Key Account.
 
Build and maintain long term relationship with the Key Account.
 
Identify potential growth opportunities within the Key Account.

Education and/or Experience 

Five years working experience as a Project Manager in a related field with a basic understanding of the electrical field.
