Job Description

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development, the Key Account Manager is responsible managing all commercial, strategic, and technical aspects of key customer accounts as defined by your manager.  Must have a deep understanding of the customer’s industry and their needs from SHAPE.  Requires maintaining a good relationship with the customer at several levels including upper management, purchasing, and technical personnel. 

  • Develop and maintain detailed understanding of the customer’s industry related to capital equipment including technology drivers, purchasing behavior, organizational structure, customer needs, regulatory drivers, and economic trends.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally and providing guidance on best course of action for given situations such as product development needs, pricing strategies, and resource needs. 
  • Regularly engage with customers at all levels to promote Shape Technologies products/solutions and grow sales and margins; includes annual pricing adjustments, new system/parts program introductions, and aftermarket sales.
  • Monitor competition and ensure that appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented internally.
  • Provide annual revenue and margin forecast for key accounts reporting with strategic insight to trends as required.
  • Deliver new insights, working closely with R&D, engineering, and sales and marketing to ensure new business opportunity targets are met.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in an Engineering-related field, but Business Administration and other programs will also be considered) or alternative combinations of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with business development or sales / marketing in a related industry.
