The Role
The Team and Role:
We are a group of passionate Software Engineers that have built the largest private Medicare exchange in the country. We have a focus on continuous improvement that extends to both the software we write and the culture we promote. We build a platform to provide the best possible support to our customers shopping for insurance, where our insurance carriers can be confident their products are represented accurately and unbiased.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves systems and network problems
  • Design and implement Server Provisioning scripts
  • Design and implement architecture to support scalable and highly available systems with automation and disaster recovery
  • Implement and manage system diagnostics and alerts
  • Create efficient automated deployment workflows supporting development through testing and production deployment environments using Bash, PowerShell, NodeJS, Python, and Ruby
  • Author and update documentation of all relevant projects
  • Work and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Maintain proprietary and third-party applications such as TeamCity, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, Salt Stack, and Azure
  • Mentor others on the team, but open to others’ ideas

Minimum Criteria & Skills (including education & licenses)
Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of Systems Engineeringexperience, with combined efforts in DevOps
  • Strongexperiencewith:
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 & 2012
    • Active Directory
    • IIS
    • Windows Services
    • VMWare
    • Docker
    • Linux
  • Familiar with Configuration Management solutions. Salt is preferred, but experience with Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with networking infrastructure and service discovery (Firewall, DHCP, DNS, Load Balancers and Big-IP)
  • Experience with Bash, Python, PowerShell, and Windows Command Line
  • Familiarity with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux Operating Systems
  • Accept ownership of your work and the overall project
  • Good at communicating ideas as well as hearing others
  • Familiarity with the agile software development lifecycle and tooling is a plus
