Junior Customer Support Engineer

If that describes you, Liferay’s Jr Customer Support Engineer role might be that unicorn role you’ve been looking for. We’re looking for a sharp and hard-working person  to join our growing support team. As a Customer Support Engineer you will have an opportunity to help resolve Liferay portal issues for hundreds of customers in fields that range from entertainment to finance to government. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage multiplereported issues among various customers simultaneously
    • Recognize and gather crucial customer information
    • Call customers and hold screen share meetings with as necessary
  • Configure different environments each day to test and help in reproducing customer issues
  • Maintain a professional and quality relationship with customers through ourinternal ticket system
    • Communicate status updates and drive communication with customers from start to finish
  • Create and assist in maintaining internal and public facing documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in business to business customer service
  • Experience working with various application servers (Tomcat, Jboss, Glassfish, Weblogic, Websphere)
  • Experience working with various databases (MySQL, Postgresql, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
  • Experience building websites
  • Excellent professional skills, including effective written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time while paying strict attention to details
  • Flexible and able to adjust quickly to changes
