The Jr. QA Engineer works as part of a team to deliver Quality Assurance (QA)/Validation and Verification (V&V) services to complex hardware products within Philips Home Monitoring. This role works with the project team to deliver the QA/V&V service in accordance with our defined quality system.

You will be responsible for

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • End to End testing of Philips home monitoring products while ensuring all QA project deliverables adhere to the appropriate regulatory requirements for medical devices
  • Perform Hardware, RF, Electrical, Physical, Environmental testing
  • Review requirements specification documents and develop Test plans/Test cases
  • Applies ingenuity and determination to find the best possible options to support business needs
  • Contributes to product design for compliance with functional and technical specifications as well as customer satisfaction
  • Contributes to the overall quality assurance strategy for the project and documents this in the Master Test Plan
  • Defines and documents test cases to exercise the product to reveal potential defects
  • Designs and implements automated tests
  • Understands schedule developed by others and reports on own progress or individual task
  • Executes SQL to do backend and database testing
  • Enters bugs within the defect tracking system
  • Determines bug priorities and verifies bug fixes
  • Uses metrics to collect quantitative project data

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering or related area
    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • 2+ years of Quality Assurance/Testing experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Hardware testing experience including circuit boards and electronic equipment
  • Understanding of all phases of the Product Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of web and client/server technologies, relational databases, network and infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Positive "can-do" attitude with a focus on the success of the team over individual success
