Job Description

Recognizing that lack of performance benchmarks is the critical barrier to improving residential building efficiency, we founded WegoWise to offer an automated, low-cost and easy-to-use online tool to collect and analyze utility data.  The intuitive platform is designed to give expert answers to non-experts yet powerful enough to meet the needs of building science professionals. It is our belief that data-driven energy efficiency investments result in the most cost-effective and substantial outcomes in building performance.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

We seek an energetic and detail oriented creative thinker that is comfortable with developing overall corporate strategy as well as managing execution of tactical plans. As the CEO, you will enjoy a fast-paced start-up environment where roles, markets, and processes are still being defined. You will also lead and scale the Company from early stage to marketplace leader in a relatively short of time (i.e. two to three years) in support of increasing shareholder value.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the business including staff management and strategic expansion

  • Develop and manage marketing and sales to ensure effective strategy, clear messaging and cost effective customer acquisition across all channels

  • Broaden and deepen the company's business relationships with municipalities, utilities, industry trade groups, housing organizations and energy efficiency programs

  • Identify customer needs that will lead to expanded product lines and markets; work with the CTO to integrate customer needs with the development of the software platform

  • Establish and maintain partnership relationships (e.g. channel partners, data partners, regulators)

  • Work with the BOD to develop coherent financial plans and operating budgets

  • Evolve financial reporting policies and procedures as the company grows

  • Position the organization for growth and ensure processes are scalable

  • Grow and manage the business to sustained profitability working within the framework of the organization's resources

  • Actively engage with board members and shareholders

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 10+ years experience in senior management roles with both P&L and operating responsibility

  • Experience leading an early-stage company or start-up division of a larger organization through a stage of rapid growth

  • Experience growing a software business, ideally in a SaaS environment, managing both top line growth and driving margin improvement

  • Experience applying appropriate discipline and "best practice" processes typically found in larger organizations to an entrepreneurial environment in an emerging industry

  • Experience defining market niches, product requirements and devising pricing models in a still evolving market

We value our employees’ time and efforts. Our commitment to your success is enhanced by our competitive compensation of $175K-$225K annually, depending on experience, an excellent benefits package, and equity participation. Plus, we work to maintain the best possible environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where each person feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning and culture.
