AccuWeather is looking for a passionate and advanced JavaScript Developer to join their exciting team. AccuWeather’s web sites are among the most popular in the country and we pride ourselves in delivering incredibly fast and accurate content. The JavaScript Developer will be part of our team in charge of desktop and mobile web sites.  This role will also work closely with the product managers, otherdevelopers to create new web products and maintain existing ones. 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Engage with a dedicated team, whose primary responsibility is developing and maintaining our AccuWeather.com web sites.
  • Function as a primary JavaScript developer who can not only merely import and utilize existing JS libraries into web frameworks, but who has the ability and experience to write world-class JS code from scratch, as well as modify/merge/update existing libraries and functions as necessary to meet increasingly demanding UI/UX client-side objectives
  • Explore and lead other JavaScript/UI/UX development initiatives.
  • Research and develop solutions that can easily be tested, deployed, updated, and monitored in production.
  • Update our digital properties and frameworks to keep pace with evolving markets and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience We Are Looking For

  • BS in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of previous web development experience or combination equivalent.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery is required. Code samples or portfolio of previous work will be required.
  • Working knowledge of JS build and deploy tools such as gulp, sass, node and NPM.
  • Ability to work effectively with web development team while independently completing assigned projects in an agile environment.
  • Experience developing cross-browser, and cross-device,muli-language and cultural factors when creating solutions for high traffic global applications.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
