Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in meetings and discussions with Functional/Technical Leads to understand the requirements and build out a technical design
  • The Individual will have outstanding technical skills to drive solutions, estimates and applications development capability
  • Work closely with internal and external partners/vendors and work on all phases of the project including planning, design, configuration, development and coding of custom features and integration points
  • Develop technical design, assist in implementation and delivery of projects and report project status to stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams of technical resources and 3rd party application developers
  • Develop applications to solve complex business problems and apply industry recognized standards, methods and tools; validate solutions with subject matter experts
  • Understands tools and methodologies related to the design, configuration, building and testing of application functionality
  • Understands how to design, configure, build, and test application functionality
  • Understands technology fundamentals, including architectures, data modeling, and application development lifecycle
  • Work with client subject matter experts and business analysts to design, develop an approach for the configuration, estimate configuration effort, and produce design documents


Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems at least 7 years' experience as Java/J2EE Developer
  • 7+ years' experience as Java/J2EE developer
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Tomcat Application Server
  • Strong knowledge of the java Spring frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration & Spring Web Services)
  • Strong knowledge of Java 7/8
  • Strong knowledge of UI frameworks (JSP, HTML, CSS/Sass, JQuery)
  • Strong knowledge of WebServices
  • Good knowledge of relation database, specifically Oracle (SQL - PL/SQL), DB2 etc.
  • Proficient and hands on with Application Servers (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss)
  • Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, procedures and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge and experienceworking within an Agile software development environment
  • Experience developing and deploying service layer /middleware applications in an enterprise scale environment.
  • Extensive understanding and experience with software debugging and integration techniques (API, Services, SOA)
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines
  • Experience with strategic work planning and budgeting
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Familiarity with State healthcare or PBM industry very helpful
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines
  • Excellent communication (oral / written) skills and the ability to interact with multiple teams in a diverse setting encompassing both technical and non-technical users
  • Must be willing to work independently and/or as part of a team in an energetic, team-oriented environment managing systems of varying size/complexity with a fast turn-around time
  • Ability to apply innovation, creativity, and improvement to the data migration/support processes and to be able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is a necessity.
