Job Purpose:

Looking for a strong java developer who can build and support application, and communicate/collaborate with global team

Job Background/context:

The Program: The Strategic Program at Citi is a multi-year program of work to replace multiple regional legacy systems with a global architecture. The program consists of a number of streams of work, each of which will require technical leadership / direction. Given the global nature of the program, requirements are expected to be complex and diverse. The Team: The team delivering the strategic Asset Servicing program is based in 5 locations providing global coverage. The Tampa, Florida centre is responsible for delivering component code into projects and for program collaboration with peers in other centre to share ideas and provide consistent solutions. Strong individuals with relevant experience are required to build a team in Tampa, Florida to work closely with the global team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze functional and non-functional requirements, and contribute in overall requirement gathering and analysis process
  • Technical design, Writing test-case and common/re-usable coding, and perform unit/component testing
  • Technical design, code, and test case reviews
  • Collaborate with fellow developers globally and quality and timely deliverables
  • Work proactively with a global/local team or independently
  • Code build and deployment
  • Technical support during QA and UAT
  • Resolve issues and root cause analysis
  • Highlight risks in advance and provide mitigation/preventive measures
  • Effort estimation and help in planning process
  • Level 3 production support

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience/ Skills Required:

  • 5 to 10 years of application development experience

Technical:

  • Core Java – Collection, Exception Handling, FileIO, JDBC etc
  • Oracle SQL/PLSQL
  • Spring
  • Hibernate/ OR mapping tools                                                                                                                                                                                               
  • Web services – Rest/SOAP
  • JMS/MQ/Tibco Queues
  • Unix/Linux – debugging, scripting etc
  • Design – UML, Design Patterns
  • UI – GWT / Angular JS
  • Version Control – GIT (Bitbucket)
  • Code Quality – Junit, Jenkins, SonarQube, Code Reviews, Performance Improvements
  • Server – Webservers/Application Servers, deployments etc
  • Scheduling tools - preferably Autosys

Non-Technical:

  • Highly effective in verbal and written communication
  • High analytical & problem solving skills, ability to analyze/implement with accuracy and detail
  • Self-managed individual who can overcome obstacle, take initiative, and innovative
  • Collaboration skill – knowledge sharing and team building attitude with peers
  • Integrity - act always with personal and professional integrity

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (in science, computers, information technology)
