IT Technologist

Key Role:

Identify user requirements, implement and maintain complex computer databases, and test and coordinate modifications to computer database systems. Apply knowledge of Cloud-specific technologies and services. Ensure the performance of the system, employ expertise in the platform on specific database runs, and add new users to the system. Plan and coordinate security measures, including data integrity, backup systems, and databasesecurity, work with high performing teams to enhance the quality of the data in existing repositories, and prepare the data for migration to a new system. Evaluate data quality, consistency, and adherence to standards and analyze plans for enhancing data quality and maturing the existing data holdings to align with the overarching data strategy. Prepare the existing data for migration to future systems and maintain responsibility of database definitions and documentation. Solve uniquely complex problems, represent the organization to internal and external clients, work on long-range programs and objectives, including provide advice to the organization in the area of expertise.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-1+ years of experience with establishing, deploying, administering, and monitoring application environments in an AWS or Microsoft Azure environments -Experience in working with application development tools, standards, and languages, including SQL, XML, or Web services

-Experience with scriptinglanguages

-Experience with distributed computing technologies, including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and AWS EMR

-Experience with using and leveraging DMBOK and federal data policy in a real-world environment in establishing data management practices

-Experience with identifying user requirements, implementing computer databases, and testing and coordinating modifications to the computer database systems

-Ability to obtain a Security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in developing and operationalizing master data management and/or metadata management solutions

-Experience in migrating applications to GovCloud

-Experience with Cloud service providers (CSPs), including AWS and Microsoft Azure

-Experience in working with data for AirForce logistics systems

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
