POSITION PURPOSE: This position envisions Network systems design and development and manages projects through completion by analysis, design, development, testing, and monitoring. Systems supported include the production and development systems, network, and all PC’s whether networked or standalone. Support consists of installation, troubleshooting, and repairing of hardware. Devices supported include physical PC’s Virtual Desktop terminals, scanners, network switches, routers, printers, etc. This position encompasses PC technician duties as well as computer operations support. May perform duties of IT Technician as required.
Positions requires 24/7 on-call for support as required.
Evaluates, installs, and supports computer applications including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, database management systems, Email, and communications
Evaluates, installs, and supports server and network systems including Microsoft Server, VMWare, Cisco IOS, Red Hat Linux and Oracle
Evaluates, installs and supports server and network hardware as well as various printer, graphics and storage peripherals
Works in a help desk environment as second level support fielding and resolving calls from end users
Continually enhance level of knowledge of the theory of in-house proprietary Yokohama software and database systems so as to provide daily and on-call support as needed for production
Coordinates small to mid-level projects
Coordinates assignments to client-based support tasks
Provide technical supervision and hands on training to other IT members as required
6 to 10 years of operations and/or PC support experience required
Demonstrated ability to perform hardware, software and network troubleshooting
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Ability to troubleshoot PC and shop floor equipment
Ability to perform performance monitoring and recognize deviations from normal processing
Advanced understanding of basic PC hardware and software. Knowledge of Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange, Outlook, etc.
Advanced understanding of server and network systems including Microsoft Server, VMWare, Cisco IOS, Red Hat Linux and Oracle
Perform on-call duties and after hours work as required
Ability to communicate well with others and work in team environment
Self-Starter with the ability to work independently

Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally operate personnel lifts at heights up to 30 feet.
Occasional daytime and overnight travel for training as required.
