Responsibilities

Provides guidance and technical support on system development and implementation for local councils business activities involving financial, fundraising, and/or membership reporting with emphasis on simplification. Assists local councils by identifying and determining business requirements for applications using knowledge of basic accounting principles/practices (e.g. General ledger) and technical IT application skills to make recommendations for system changes and/or upgrades as applicable. Supports council operations related to financials, fundraising, membership, program(s), and leadership and governance. Provides functional and technical support for BSA software applications used to support council business and/or fundraising operations. Collaborates with team members, cross-functional departments, and stakeholders to develop innovative software solutions for managing business and fundraising challenges. Advises on application functional configurations and collaborates with multiple stakeholders (e.g. vendors, cross-functional departments, finance, etc.) to ensures software tools meet business functional requirements. Applies technical skills and specialized business knowledge of accounting, general ledger, and/or financials to support the development of standardized reporting, application functional testing, and functional configuration for business systems. Refines and develops educational, instructional software resources that assist with the delivery of application training and the development of the training modules. Documents business processes for software applications with an emphasis on best practices.

Education

Must have a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g. Information Technology, Business, Accounting, etc.) and a combination of work experience to support areas of expertise (e.g. Financials, Fundraising, Membership, Program, Leadership & Governance) is required

Qualifications

A minimum of 5+ years similar or related role preferred
Experience using financial and HRIS application systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Oracle, or similar systems) is highly desired
Certifications to support area of expertise preferred
Must be proficient in delivering Web-based training to end-users
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Outlook, etc.)
Must have demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships
