Your job. is looking for a full-time IT Systems Administrator who will enhance the lives of our engineering, international, client services, sales, and other internal teams by improving the systems we work with every day. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining corporate IT infrastructure. Nothing is off limits - you can work with automation, systems deployment and management, virtualization, AV and video conferencing and more.

You will have the opportunity to improve our open-source based systems management infrastructure. Your contributions will not only help but possibly millions of open source users worldwide.


* Develop and enhance automation through scripting and/or Puppet
* Evaluate and integrate new technology to enhance our lives and make Indeed a great place to work
* Build systems which make our burgeoning infrastructure more manageable and secure
* Collaborate with open source communities such as samba and puppet
* Work with surrounding teams to implement our developed systems
* Design deployment procedures for our products and take ownership of rollouts to assure success
* Learn everything you can and teach those around you
* Work fast, fail fast, and make data-driven decisions

About you.

* Knows their way around a BASH shell
* Has experience with automation software like puppet, chef, or ansible
* Proficient in git and source control Is very comfortable with OS X
* Wants to travel, both domestically and abroad
* Is comfortable in an open-office environment and interacting with people throughout the day, both in person, over video conference and phone, and over email and chat
* Has strong writing capabilities and exhibits keen attention to details
* Undergraduate degree in a technical field 3+ years of IT experience
* Proficiency with Python, Ruby, or PHP Ability to work individually and as part of a team
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Linux, and OS X
* Independent ability to research technical problems and devise innovative solutions
* Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
* Strong organizational and managerial skills and detail-oriented work ethic
* Willingness to work flexible / odd hours at times, based on business needs
