We are searching for an IT Sr. Engineer- Operations to use analytical, architectural and technical system skills to provide final Tier 3 support and ownership of assigned applications and issues for both internally developed and vendor-provided enterprise-level business systems. These systems perform functions in support of but not limited to revenue generation, customer service functionality, customer bill accuracy, inventory management and order fulfillment, customer payment processing, customer relationship management and overall customer experience. Take final ownership of assigned application issues and troubles for all enterprise-level business systems. Actively engage Engineering, Development, and Project Management teams as needed to assist in the resolution of troubles with the enterprise-level business systems. Actively monitor performance, system uptimes, errors, and issues and perform system tuning as needed. Make recommendations for improvements of systems to business, development and/or engineering teams as appropriate. Responsible for all parameterized system configuration changes not specifically provided to the business application owner. Provide round the clock 24x7x365 support on enterprise-level business systems. Actively participate on all project teams of all future enterprise-level business systems from the investigation phase through the implementation phase. After implementation, take final full ownership of the enterprise-level business application, including the support, planning, and user-training of said application. Finally, ensure proper support and process flow documentation for all developed enterprise-level business systems and purchased enterprise-level business systems.
In addition to the above, the IT Sr. Engineer – Operations will be expected to be lead support on three or more enterprise systems, and backup support on at least two other enterprise systems. The IT Sr. Engineer – Operations is expected to maintain their technical skills with regular training, and are expected to manage their own project schedules. A primary attribute of the IT Sr. Engineer – Operations is proactive action. Systems under their control are expected to be fully monitored, and the goal is that IT repairs problems before the customer knows a problem exists.
Duties & Responsibilities
§ Manage and execute Capital improvement projects, either as part of a team bringing in a large Enterprise system, or individually updating and maintaining owned systems.
§ Manage and maintain owned systems, including monitoring the application, tuning the application performance, and performing break/fix maintenance.
§ Document owned systems, and maintain documentation on a regular schedule.
§ Train on new or existing technologies to maintain the best technical footing in the assigned area
