Responsibilities

The IT Solutions Engineer/Analyst II/III will be responsible for integrating multiple source and target applications onto the middleware layer, utilizing a variety of programming constructs. These could include web services, Java applications with JMS, SQL Server stored procedures, and .NET stand-alone applications. This role would also involve developing logging interfaces into ELK, developing message formats and building monitoring dashboards.

· Experience with development languages, including Java, SQL asp.NET\.NET

· Exposure to messaging and integration patterns, including the use of an ESB for middleware

· Experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST)

· Coding (SQL, JSQL, TSQL) experience with RDBMSs, including Oracle and SQL Server

· Experience administering RedHat Fuse ESB in a Production environment, preferably on Linux

· Experience with Production support for critical systems (24/7 support model), including backup and recovery, performance tuning and capacity planning

· Experience with Unix commands and scripting, e.g. ksh, vi, perl, various OS commands

· Experience with secure deployments, including certificate management

· Experience with hot deploy code promotions and migrations, i.e. no down-time deployments

· Experience with design and implementation of multi-site High Availability solutions

· Exposure to messaging and integration patterns, including the use of an ESB for middleware

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications

· Ability to provide technical support to the developers and testers

· Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements, e.g. SOX, NERC CIP

· Experience with container technology, such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift

· Experience with development technologies including Eclipse, Maven, git and Jenkins

· Exposure to Energy Management Systems (EMS) and downstream systems

· Experience with Apache Karaf, Camel, Fabric and ActiveMQ


Required Education and Experience for Level II

- Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 2 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

- Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system

Required Education and Experience for Level III

- Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

- Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas


Key Job Accountabilities

· Develops/configures new applications to meet functional and technical designs

· Fixes and develops changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines

· Engages with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contributes to completion of functional specifications

· Prepares technical documentation on application specifications

· Creates deliverables according to the SDLC, such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation

· Analyzes and resolves development issues in a timely manner

· Conducts analysis of codes and develops/ deploys defect fixes in engineering processes

· Proactively assists internal clients with technical issues related to solution implementation
