ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively elicits, analyzes, validates, defines and documents business requirements and/or Use Cases via JAD sessions or other requirements gathering sessions.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with senior and mid level leadership.
  • Develops expertise in multiple business functions, processes, and services and applies knowledge in leading requirements and solution options discovery, documentat, comparison and recommendations.
  • Effectively manages requirements and requirement options to support management of project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Leads or assists with facilitation of requirements gathering sessions and/or team meetings.
  • Strong skills in development of functional specifications, flow diagrams, user interface designs and system design specifications.
  • Researches emerging industry practices to stay up-to-date with them.  Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
  • Identifies root causes of unexpected events, evaluates processes for optimal system behavior, and escalates and communicates system issues and solutions. Leads research and resolution of data inconsistencies.
  • Manage requirements traceability thru the Sofware/Service Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Works closely with the testing teams in development of effective test plans and scripts, identifying test issues, and communicating testing results to business and technical contacts.
  • Works closely with IT Operations and IT Governance to resolve incidents and schedule moves to production as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all required steps of the Change Management process.
  • Leads in the development and maintenance of user manuals, guidelines, production support documents, and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery documentation.
  • Participates in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and exercises. 
  • Effectively manages client expectations and continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
  • May coach or mentor one or more contract and/or internal team members.  Proactively seeks leadership opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned or as situation dictates.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering plus 5years related work experience. Significant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Familiar with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and its guidelines for accepted practices.
  • Possesses strong understanding in the areas of application design, software delivery, database, and system design.
  • Proficiency in the following software programs: MS/Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance.
  • Quickly understands business issues and data challenges of one or more core applications.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis, data modeling, and functional decomposition.
  • Comfortable working with teams and facilitating effective team interaction.
  • Expertise in effective communication at all levels:
    • Able to describe and communicate the value of a project in terms of its benefits and costs.
    • Primary liaison to technical teams, responsible for clearly articulating all business issues and requirements.
    • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations as requested.
    • Provides clear written status updates.
    • Able to communication difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
