IT Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will provide strategic sales support using extensive skills in delivering technical consultation, planning, design and implementation solutions to ensure successful customer integration and implementation of established company networks and products.


*        Searching for new clients who could benefit from your products in a designated region

*        Travelling to visit potential clients

*        Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers

*        Managing and interpreting customer requirements

*        Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs

*        Calculating client quotations

*        Conduct sales and account management training on industry voice and data products

*        Support direct, indirect and account management sales channels providing design expertise in all phases of the sales cycle

*        Design and prepare all technical paperwork to provisioning team for customer implementation

*        Create tailor made VISO network drawings or PowerPoint presentations

*        Develop and maintain relationships with hardware and software vendors

*        Negotiating tender and contract terms

*        Offering after-sales support services

*        Administering client accounts

*        Analyzing costs and sales

*        Preparing reports for head office

*        Meeting regular sales targets

*        Recording and maintaining client contact data

*        Co-ordinating sales projects

*        Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events

*        Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs

*        Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education

*        Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts

*        Solving client problems

*        Helping in the design of custom-made products

*        Providing training and producing support material for the sales team


CISCO certifications such as CCNA, CCDA or CCNP

Experience with IP Voice, SS7, Internet and MPLS technologies and design

Experience with Unix, Linus, and Solaris

BS, Information Technology or Engineering

2 * 5 years professional level technical/engineering experience
