Position Description

The Information Technology (IT) Risk Director - Control Testing position is responsible for leading the Control Testing program for IT Risk. As part of the Independent Risk Management function, this position will oversee the program for testing key controls within the IT/IS environment. Additionally, this position will be responsible for determining Cyber Event Materiality, as well as coordinating a yearly Cyber Security Program Maturity Assessment. The individual in this role will work with partners in the line of business as well as Governance, Risk, and Compliance functions, to determine business needs and establish strategies and action plans. The position involves frequent interaction with all levels of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the IT Control Test Strategy to include:
    • Scope and definition of testing and monitoring plans
    • Roles and responsibilities
    • Standards and practices for testing and monitoring key controls
    • Issues Management protocols
    • Reporting
  • Coach team members in testing methodology, designing test objectives, test execution, and evidence evaluation
  • Monitor change control processes to ensure scheduled / coordinated evaluation of key controls
  • Recommend and manage action plans to address identified risks or failure points based on control testing
  • Implement holistic, centralized report strategy that summarizes results of key control testing and establishes a method for escalating performance indicators and risk issues to lines of business and Enterprise Risk
  • Interact with the Enterprise Operational Risk team to ensure alignment with applicable Enterprise Risk policies and standards
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners
  • Support needs of IT Risk Management and other stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of Banking, Financial Service industries experience is preferred
  • Experience working in Audit, Financial Controls, Governance, or other testing function required
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, and risk management requirements
  • Proven ability to establish new initiatives and successfully implement as well as maintain those initiatives across functions
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Problem solving, decision making, and ability to translate strategy into action
  • Conflict management skills and/or demonstrated the ability to handle difficult situations with clients or team mates
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to lead / manage without formal direct reporting authority
  • Ability to support multiple assignments and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience building strong partnerships / relationships
  • Proficiency in computer applications and analysis
  • Expert proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Appropriate professional affiliations/certifications (CISA, CISSP, CRISC) required
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
