Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the IT Project Manager – Level II is to successfully plan and execute medium to large sized projects (in terms of team size and average duration) that support LVS company needs. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project plans for medium to large sized projects based upon defined high level features and functions and defined project success criteria.
  • Estimate resources to support defined project plans and project goals.
  • Assign project tasks to appropriate resources and communicate expectations and accountabilities in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Define communication strategies to ensure project stakeholders are engaged and aware of project activities and dependencies.
  • Manage project execution within the defined enterprise standards to ensure timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness, tracking schedule and budget performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manage the project budget, scope, and schedule, identifying and documenting needed changes to the original plan and ensuring project stakeholder and steering committee buy-in for any proposed changes.
  • Identify and manage project issues and risks throughout the life of the project, developing action and contingency plans as appropriate.
  • Communicate project status and manage expectations with project stakeholders on an on-going basis.
  • Validate project deliverables against scope and quality expectations and participate in project stage-gates (including project post-mortems or wrap-ups), identifying opportunities for execution and process improvement.
  • Participate in process improvement activities to optimize delivery efficiency and cost effectiveness.

  • The IT Project Manager – Level II focuses on delivering projects that satisfy business requirements at an agreed upon cost and schedule.
  • Projects assigned to an IT Project Manager – Level II require coordination with other IT professionals, business sponsors and stakeholders, potentially outside of their property location, and external resources, including vendors, service providers, and  strategic business partners.
  • Projects assigned to the IT Project Manager – Level II may span multiple locations/properties. The IT Project Manager – Level II works independently, with occasional quality oversight by an IT Program Manager.
  • The IT Project Manager – Level II utilizes the enterprise standards for project process and the enterprise tools to deliver projects that meet the LVS quality standards.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years of IT industry experience or equivalent technical experience (e.g., engineering, construction, etc.)
  • 5 to 8years of project managementexperience.
  • Ability to effectively manage/execute multiple projects concurrently and independently.
  • Familiar with ITIL processes, policies and procedures.
  • Advanced user in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Likely travel to other regions/properties in addition to primary staffinglocation.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, ITIL) beneficial.
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form,
  • Must possess interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to VCR appearance standards, maintain consistent adherence to the VCR Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service focus, attention to detail, and process orientation.
  • Ability to distill and present information to a broad audience.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy and stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Must be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to monitor fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.
