Job Description:

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience

Experience:

  • In depth understanding of project terminology and methodology
  • 3-5 years of experience managing programs with 10+ year project management
  • Ability to lead multi-function project team through influencing skills
  • In depth Risk / Issue / Change Management knowledge
  • Developing executive level PowerPoint presentations
  • Expert skill using Microsoft Project to drive project execution and manage to critical path
  • Experience in managing constrained schedules and resources in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Ability to understand interdependencies and can connect the dots on how one part of a project impacts another
  • Evaluate complex situations accurately and identifies viable solutions that create successful outcomes for the customer. Hosting meetings, taking meeting notes, and documenting action items
  • Ability to organize complex and/or ambiguous information for project sponsor
  • Organizing project goals / objectives into major streams of work with specific deliverables
  • Develop and maintain "lessons-learned" inputs to the project repository for utilization on future programs
  • Work closely with the Program Executive Sponsor, Operating Committee and Steering Committee to facilitate decisions necessary for delivery and to overcome barriers
  • Resolve political, resource, budgeting, change, and legal issues affecting the program.
  • Serves as a mentor/advisor/decision-maker to project managers for the program for issues related to corporate politics, external politics, client relations, governmental regulation, project quality, project risk, and safety.
  • Oversee development of proposals and requests for proposals associated with the program.

Interactions:

  • Global implementation effort with multiple Medium to Large Complex projects being managed will typically have:
  • Individual team members from 8-12 cross functional teams and business sectors
  • 2-4 Service providers needed to deliver key portions of the solution, which will include infrastructure, applications, and several interdisciplinary teams to support execution
  • Serves as the leader of a multi-person project management team
  • Joint executive program sponsors which requires project manager to gain consensus and set expectations
  • Involve multiple technology area with solution design (networkcircuits, laptop clients, VM server, etc.)
  • Global business customers impacted by program delivery involving multiple sector geographies
  • Oversee global program team activities by influencing cross functional team members without direct line of authority (daily)
  • Effective communication with executive sponsor(s), Sr Director/VP, in customer organization (weekly)
  • Status presentation and Stage Gate approval meeting with Directors and Sr Directors (Monthly)
  • Serve as first level of escalation from Project Managers assigned to program
  • IT Services Suppliers coordination to deliver needed IT Services required for project delivery
  • Works with EPMO Portfolio Manager to align on key project artifacts and gains alignment on project governance
  • Schedule, budget and scope constraints that cause pressure on delivery
